Canadian cultural landscape
Summer 2020
During the summer of 2020, Érudit undertook a major project, entitled “Culture to Go,” to promote texts taken from Quebec cultural journals. Carefully selected, these articles focus on major themes and movements that have influenced the cultural landscapes of Canada and beyond.

Creation
Summer 2021
Following the success of “Culture to Go: Winter 2021 Session”, the SODEP and Érudit are once again joining forces to present “Culture to Go – Summer 2021 Session”. This time, it will present a corpus of a dozen texts centered on the theme of creation, taken from Quebec cultural journals, which you’ll be able to discover during the months of July and August.
Quebec heritage
Summer 2022
For the third summer in a row, the SODEP and Érudit have collaborated to present a brand-new edition of “Culture to Go”. This year, a selection of articles on the wider theme of Quebec heritage allows us to examine that which makes up the province’s heritage: its landscapes, regions and traditions, but also its architecture and gastronomy.
Holidays
Winter 2022
The SODEP and Érudit are once again partnering to bring you a holiday version of “Culture to Go”. Each week until Christmas, discover a selection of articles inspired by the holiday period. We suggest you start with the preparation for festivities: from decorating the tree to buying gifts. Then it’s time to put on your skates or take an invigorating walk. Next, let’s meet up with the family to enjoy some favorite New Year’s Eve dishes. And finally, revisit childhood with some children’s movie classics.
Back-to-school
Fall 2023
In this issue, you’ll find articles from cultural journals that explore the field of education, from school benches to field trips. Other articles present thought-provoking debates on major issues facing the academic world. Finally, a selection of texts from literary journals offer creative perspectives on the arrival of autumn.
Winter 2024
The winter 2024 edition of “Culture to Go” is currently in preparation. See you soon for the big unveiling!
Érudit and the SODEP
Since September 2010, Érudit and the SODEP have been working together to bring the archives and current issues of Quebec’s cultural journals into the digital space. Thanks to this partnership, some 85,000 cultural articles are now available on the erudit.org platform, with 2,000 added each year. In addition to “Culture to Go”, this collaboration has given rise to a number of other projects aimed at raising the profile of Quebec’s cultural journals.
“Articles published in cultural journals are indispensable for disseminating knowledge and sharing Quebec culture. They very often play a complementary role to that of scholarly articles, notably through an accessible approach to the subjects covered; for this reason, they are much appreciated by users of our erudit.org platform, particularly in a context of study, teaching or research.”
– Tanja Niemann, Érudit’s Executive Director
“Articles published in cultural journals are a great way to discover the questions and solutions concerning heritage issues in Quebec and elsewhere. This knowledge, accessible to all, is essential if we are to understand the heritage of the past we enjoy today, and pass it on to future generations.”
– Hélène Hotton, SODEP Executive Director
