With a growing team, strengthened leadership, expanded expertise, and a new office space, Érudit has reached an important milestone in its development, enhancing its capacity to support Canadian scholarly publishing.

Since 2024, we have been working hard to adapt our organization to a rapidly changing scholarly publishing environment, which has been marked by the rise of open science and the rapid evolution of digital technologies.

A Team Built Around Six Fields of Expertise

With new colleagues joining the team and our activities expanding over the last few years, it became essential for us to better structure our operations. Now over forty employees strong, Érudit’s team is structured around six departments, each with its own expertise:

  • Technological InfrastructureDavin Baragiotta
  • Strategy and PartnershipsÉlise Bergeron
  • Digital Publishing ServicesMarie-Ève Dugas
  • Communications and EngagementGwendal Henry
  • Finances and AdministrationSolongo Pruneaux-Altangerel
  • Scientific Development and Innovationto be filled

In this context, the Associate Director position was created to support the management team in its multiple mandates. The position is held by Élise Bergeron, who previously held the title of Director of Operations. Tanja Niemann and Vincent Larivière still hold the positions of Executive Director and Scientific Director, respectively.

The department heads, together with the Executive Director, now form an Executive Committee, which supports the coordination of organizational priorities and strategic decision-making.

A New Office Space to Match Our Mission

This period of transformation has also come with a move into a new office space located in the Centre d’innovation of the Université de Montréal. Designed for hybrid and collaborative work, this space provides an environment that reflects our mission: open, interdisciplinary and turned toward the future. We want to extend our thanks to the Université de Montréal for its support during this transition, as well as to everyone who has contributed to making this move a success.

New Expertise Within the Team

This reorganization fits within a broader effort to expand and diversify the types of expertise available to Érudit in order to better support the research and scholarly publishing community in an ever-changing environment.

As part of the Circé Network, three new members joined the team at the end of fall 2025:

  • Elliot Montpellier, Coordinator, Open Access Development
  • Audrey-Anne Desrosiers, Journals Communications Officer
  • Véronique Landry, Knowledge Mobilization Advisor

We are also pleased to benefit from the expertise of Yves Terrat, who serves as Senior Research Advisor in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Experience. In addition, Sophie Bergeron, Leïla Fournier-Parent, and Augustine Poirier have joined the Digital Publishing Services team. More recently, Eric Araujo joined the Technology Infrastructure team as IT Advisor.

These new contributors bring their expertise, strengthening our collective capacity to support innovation, publishing and knowledge dissemination in Canada.
