Learn more about our Strategic Plan 2026-2030, the result of a large-scale process of collective reflection conducted over the last few months. Developed with the help of our governing bodies, our team, our partners and the communities we serve, this plan lays out the major strategic orientations that will guide the organization through the next five years.
A Plan Meant to be Shared
The document was developed to be both useful to our internal team as well as accessible to our communities, notably our partners, collaborators, granting agencies, decision-makers and the general public.
Visually, the graphic design aligns with Érudit’s visual identity while invoking openness, transparency and a forward-looking perspective, which fits the vision of the organization.
A Renewed Mission
At the heart of this new Strategic Plan, we find a clear mission: democratize knowledge and increase its discoverability through our non-commercial platform and our commitment to the common good. This new mission statement fits into an ambitious vision: contribute to shaping open science in Canada. The choice of the term “shaping” reflects a desire to underscore the concrete nature of our efforts, rooted in a human-centred and committed approach.
Four Major Priorities
This orientation is broken down into four major objectives that act as the pillars of the Strategic Plan: the development of diamond open access, the reach of research and knowledge, the attention given to the community and the services provided to it, as well as responsible innovation.
- Collectively Build the Future of Diamond Open Access
We are continuing our commitment toward diamond open access, a model for the dissemination of scholarly knowledge in which there are no fees for either readers or authors. Through initiatives like Coalition Publica and the Partnership for Open Access, we will continue to support a sustainable and fair model for scholarly publishing.
- Place Our Communities at the Heart of our Services
We will be paying close attention to ensuring that our services meet the needs of our communities, particularly through dialogue, aligning our initiatives, and continuously improving the user experience.
- Strengthen Scientific Sovereignty in Canada and the Reach of Canadian Research
While reaffirming our central role in disseminating research in French and in the humanities and social sciences, we want to reach out to other communities, in a spirit of interdisciplinarity, multilingualism and bibliodiversity.
- Innovate Responsibly
We will continue to innovate responsibly, in a way that takes ethical issues into account, through active monitoring, adherence to norms and standards and the development of strong partnerships.
Let’s Shape the Future of Open Science Together
Open science is the guiding principle behind our entire strategic plan. Rather than being treated as a separate objective, it forms the very backbone of the plan, reflecting our commitment to fully integrate Érudit’s activities into the research cycle, from knowledge production to dissemination and the emergence of new projects.
